Graphic Novel Breakfast at BEA
BookExpo is proud to announce that we are doing a graphic novel focus on Saturday of the show and to kick it off we’ve teamed up with Diamond Book Distributors to launch an absolutely amazing breakfast followed by 10 – yup 10 – full conference sessions on graphic novels (all this is part of the 150 sessions we do all weekend long).
The breakfast begins at 8am on Saturday and is hosted by Jeff Smith and will include speakers Jeph Loeb, Mike Mignola, and Art Spiegelman. You'll really get breakfast so the event will cost 25 bucks and you can sign up on the BookExpo site. What a line up! I got to sit and talk with Art a few months back and it was an honor – he’s an amazing guy and on a stage with Mignola, Loeb and Smith? Yeah, a homerun.

So the question must be asked; Am I just being lazy and taking NY ComicCon panels and doing them 6 weeks later and BEA? First of all, who cares if I am and how dare you judge me and secondly, no. These are really trade focused panels and events and I’m pleased to see the great crossover between these two shows that I love equally – yet differently.
Also, this will go head to head with our author breakfast, but we really felt that these would be different audiences and, as you all know, there are more things to do than there are hours in the day at BEA, so yes, you just might have to chose – or maybe you can run back and forth between the two. If you do, don’t spill your coffee.
Lastly, a big huge thanks to Diamond for helping us make this happen….
