Meet (more) Bestselling Authors at BookExpo - A New Event!

Yesterday we announced a new BookExpo event that I think you're gonna like. It's called Meet the Bestsellers and will take place on Sunday, June 1, 12 noon – 2pm. The event features Dean Koontz, whose new book ODD HOURS will be published by Bantam Dell in May ‘08 and Michael Connelly, whose new book THE BRASS VERDICT will be published in October ‘08 will be this year’s featured authors. The new event, which will offer a free boxed lunch to all attendees, will take place in Room 403AB and will be first come, first served.

We wanted to accomplish two things with this event - feature bestselling authors at BookExpo, which we have never done well at the show. We tend to focus on up and coming writers, celebrity authors, literary writers, etc but we have neglected featuring the bestselling authors that drive sales in stores all over the country - well no longer! Secondly, we are working hard to find ways to make Sunday a more robust day of programming and activity and we've got one other program we'll be announcing soon to help us accomplish this.

A HUGE thanks to Bantam Dell and Little Brown for making this happen and for giving everyone a free lunch. Mr. Koontz and Mr. Connelly will be interviewed on stage by Carol Memmott, Book Critic of USA Today, and a short Q & A with the audience will follow. Participants in the luncheon will also have the opportunity to meet the authors during an exclusive autographing session following the speaking portion of the program.
