Tim Russert at BookExpo 2006

Tim Russert was the Opening Night Keynote Speaker at BEA in 2006 and we've podcasted his talk from the event on the BookExpo Cast site and in the player I've posted here.

I got the chance to meet Tim and his son Luke in the green room before the event and the stories that have been told for the last 4 or 5 days about him rang very true in my brief encounter with him. He immediately struck me as a warm guy, intensely proud of his son and eager to learn about other people......
During his speech Tim welcomed BEA to Washington D.C. and shared his insights on family life as well as Washington politics. Tim is introduced on the podcast briefly by myself and Random House Senior Editor Susan Mercandetti.
