My friend, and yours, Jessica Stockton Bangulo is trying, scheming, clawing to open an indie bookstore in Brooklyn and now she's got co-conspirators in this effort - The Fort Greene Indie Bookstore Initiative. The initiative is so serious about brining an indie bookstore to it's neighborhood that it is lining up it's support behind Jessica's efforts. Pretty cool eh?

So how can you help, you might be asking?

To raise awareness and rally community support for the venture, the Initiative is hosting an event at the Cumberland Greene (237 Cumberland Avenue in Fort Greene) 7-9 p.m. on September 16.
