JOSS WHEDON! DOLLHOUSE! NYCC!
Hi, everybody. You may have heard rumblings of this a few weeks back, but today New York Comic Con can officially reveal that pop culture icon Joss Whedon will attend its 2009 event as a Special Guest and premiere the first act of his upcoming television series Dollhouse to convention attendees. One of the most influential names in the pop culture landscape of the last decade, Whedon is the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, and Serenity, and his latest project -- Dollhouse -- is set to premiere on February 13 on FOX. Dollhouse follows Echo (Eliza Dushku, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), an "Active," a member of a highly illegal and underground group who have had their personalities wiped clean so they can be imprinted with any number of new personas. Confined to a secret facility known as the "Dollhouse," Echo and the other Actives carry out engagements assigned by Adelle (Olivia Williams, X-Men: The Last Stand, Rushmore), one of the Dollhouse leaders. The engagements cater to the wealthy, powerful and connected, and require the Actives to immerse themselves in all manner of scenarios - romantic, criminal, uplifting, dangerous, comical, and the occasional "pro bono" good deed. As the series progresses, FBI agent Paul Ballard (Tahmoh Penikett, Battlestar Galactica) pieces together clues that lead him closer to the Dollhouse, while Echo stops forgetting. Her memories begin to return, and she slowly pieces together her mysterious past.
Whedon will lead a screening of the first act of the first episode of Dollhouse followed by a discussion at 12:45 PM EST on Sunday, February 8 in the IGN Theater inside New York Comic Con. Whedon will then conduct an autograph session beginning at 2 PM.

Is this going to be a ticket signing??
At present, no. We'll immediately post if this changes, but there are not currently plans for this to be a ticketed event.
Will any cast members of Dollhouse be attending?
Is there a reason the majority of the TV panels are scheduled for Sunday?
If this is not a ticketed signing, then is it taking place in the panel room, or on the show floor in the autograph area?
Can I wait in the ign theater overnight? i'm serious.
Seriously can we sleep overnight in the theater? I will be there with my sleeping bag in a second.
Please do the signing at the theater. At least then everyone who goes to screening and qna can get autographs. If you move autos to another room a lot of people who go to panel will not be able to get an auto.
Im gonna be there all weekend, so ill just have all my fun on fri-sat and then sit in front of the theater all day sunday waiting on line, i dont care

Will the IGN Theater VIP ticket get you into EVERYTHING that is being held in the theater or only the things on Saturday?

Very disappointed that the Joss Whedon panel has been scheduled overlapping with the Fringe panel.
Because there is clearly no crossover in audience for those two shows.
Honestly, seems to me that you want to plan this a little more carefully.
Dollhouse kicks off at 12:45 on Sunday and Fringe begins at 1:45. The panels don't overlap. Granted, the Dollhouse autographing does hit against the Fringe panel, and we know this.
Peter thanks for the reply - I was going of the listing on the main site, which has Dollhouse/Whedon at 1-2 and Fringe at 1.45-2.45.
If the crowds are the same as last year (and I suspect they'll be bigger, with demand for these two panels especially large), getting between them is bound to be difficult.
On a related note, SDCC has a ticketing system to let people get out of the bigger rooms to go the restroom as long as they're back before the next panel starts. Any similar plans for the IGN theatre this year? It always struck me as a good idea.

Why is it we can't get answers from anyone involved in the NYCC???? Any time someone asks a decent question, you guy pretend it doesn't exist or in Lance's case, stop posting replys to that post and moves on. This site is a way to interact with fans, and yet you only do what you want to. All I want to know for the 3rd time, is the signing taking place in the theater after the panel, or will that be in the autograph area on the floor??? How hard is it to answer that?

I can be reached at ptatara@reedexpo.com. To the Joss signing, it will take place in the Autograph Area of the Exhibit Floor beginning at 2 PM on Sunday. It is NOT ticketed. Similarly, the Bruce Timm and Torchwood signings -- also in the Autograph Area -- aren't ticketed as well. We know there will be a long line of fans, but the decision to ticket or not to ticket comes down to the folks bringing Dollhouse, Wonder Woman, and Torchwood to the con, and they want their signings to be first come, first served. It's not going to make everyone happy, but if they were ticketed, that wouldn't make everyone happy, either. Of course, now I'm torn. I've signed on the be a volunteer but I would LOVE to be able to attend all these awesome panels and autograph sessions. I wish I could clone myself. hahah.
Hello I wanted to know if there is any bonus for vip holders that attend the panel because as stated before it will be very difficult to stay for the panel and then manage to get on line because they usually stop the lines once it gets to a certain number of people so if we were in the panel we wouldnt be able to line up and thus unable to get an autograph.
