Hero Tomorrow Screens at NYCC

NYCC has a lot of movies and TV coming this weekend. We've got Dollhouse, Fringe, Futurama, Torchwood, Watchmen, and Pixar's Up at just the start of the list. But, there's a lot more coming to NYCC beyond the big networks and studios. I'm very excited to have screenings including Big Man Japan (3:15 / 1A04 / Friday), The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (11 AM / 1A04 / Sunday), and Hero Tomorrow (1:30 / 1A04 / Saturday). And I wanted to talk a little more about Hero Tomorrow -- as while you probably know a thing or two about Dollhouse, Futurama, and even Big Man Japan -- I'm going to think Hero Tomorrow is new for most of you. What's it about officially?

David spends his days cutting grass and his nights smoking while desperately trying to keep his super hero fantasies alive. When Robyn, his aspiring fashion-designer girlfriend, makes him a Halloween costume of his original character -- Apama -- it doesn't take David long to hit the streets and begin blundering towards disaster. This comic book Don Quixote is characterized by surreal flourishes, mixing dream, fantasy, and flashbacks that borrow as much from the art house as the comic shop.

Sounds good? Sure. What this little except doesn't capture is just how much Hero Tomorrow's been praised by Newsarama, G4, and the Comic Buyers Guide, and we're proud to bring it to NYC and NYCC. Hero Tomorrow screens at 1:30 PM in Room 1A04 on Saturday, February 7. Director Ted Sikora will be coming to the con, too, so stick around after the screening for a Q&A.

I figured this was as good as any place to ask...

You stated in this blog that NYCC begins Friday at 11:00 AM. The official site still shows 1:00 PM. Was this a recent change?

Not sure what you are refering to, but the show open at 10 for pros, 1pm for fans.
