Not So Fast - A Quick Word on Star Wars Celebration V Hotels

I know everyone is excited over CV’s announcement this week and I’ve gotten a lot of emails and questions on hotels. I also heard from our friends in Orlando that the hotel community is getting a ton of calls already from fans eager to book a room and get a great deal. I want to remind everyone that we are currently contracting huge room blocks for the show and that when we work in volume like that, we usually get pretty good deals. Within 2 weeks we’ll have a ton of hotel deals for you to pick from (some will come online even sooner) so please check our travel page (here’s a handy link for you) over the next couple of weeks to make sure you get the best deal.

My advice:

Wait 2 weeks to book through us so you know you are getting the best deal at an “official hotel”. If you really, really feel like you have to book a room now make sure you can cancel without a penalty. I’d hate for anyone to book a room and then find we have negotiated a better rate at a better hotel and you can’t cancel yours.

We actually have rates committed from 2 dozen hotel properties near the convention center and now that we’ve finalized the details of CV we are drafting and signing contracts. That takes a little bit of time, but not too long.

Hang tight, we are working hard to get the very best hotel rates for you at the very best hotels.

Peter saw this on Twitter today and we want to make sure you don’t pay any more than you need to, that’s why we are here!

galacticbinder: Several hotels in Orlando have already jacked up their prices for #SWCV. Red Roof from $50 to $95 - Rosen Centre from $124 to $170 #starwars

Here’s that handy link to the official CV Travel Page one more time.

It would be pretty impressive if there end up being any rates better than the $79/night at the LaQuinta. And that's for a "suite" type of room with fridge/microwave and just overall more room than a normal hotel room.
