Masterpiece and the BBC present the US Premiere of Sherlock at New York Comic Con

Sherlock Holmes. You know the name. You know the story. But you've never seen it like this. NYCC is proud to host the newest take on this immortal British hero -- from the writers of Doctor Who, a Sherlock for the 21st century!

Sherlock Holmes stalks again in this new, modern version of the Arthur Conan Doyle classic, starring Benedict Cumberbatch (Atonement, The Last Enemy) as the go-to consulting detective in 21st century London, with Martin Freeman (The Office UK, Hitchhikers’ Guide to the Galaxy) as his loyal friend, Dr. John Watson, and Rupert Graves as the long-suffering Inspector Lestrade. Fast-paced, funny, and surreally true to the hero’s fantastic gifts for deduction, the series -- co-created by Doctor Who’s Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss -- was a massive hit when it aired this summer in the UK. Sherlock premieres on American TV on Masterpiece Mystery! on PBS with A Study in Pink on October 24, followed by The Blind Banker on October 31, and The Great Game on November 7. But you can be the first in the US to see Moffat and Gatiss's Sherlock on Friday, October 8 at New York Comic Con!

The new Sherlock mixes beloved elements of Conan Doyle’s original stories with the even more dangerous possibilities for criminal mischief in the modern world, especially by the likes of Holmes’s arch enemy, the evil Moriarty. Following the PBS airing, the BBC will release Sherlock: Season One, featuring exclusive bonus content, on DVD and Blu-ray on November 9. Again, though, no need to wait, as you'll be able to take in the very first episode of Sherlock on the big screen at NYCC!

Sherlock! 8 PM! Friday, October 8! Room 1A06! Thank you, London!

First(ish)... Saw all three parts as they aired in the UK from the comfort of my home in Seattle... Bloody brilliant show! I don't want to wait until Autumn 2011 for more (and the continuation of the cliffhanger)...

Is it going to be the unaired pilot or the first aired episode (A Study in Pink)? Just curious, but looking forward to it immensely
