Read This Or Be Locked Out Of NYCC
Alrighty folks, here is an important post, so put your listening caps on or your drinking shoes or you comprehension skinny jeans – whatever article of clothing that will make you best pay attention and understand this, please slip into that wardrobe now (for me it’s a cat blazer – a jacket made of live cats).
If any of you can recall, last year NYCC was what I like to call vibrant. Perhaps a bit too vibrant. I’m doing my best to put a positive spin on the fact that it was an insanely busy show. So to try and bring better order to this vibrancy, we are organizing every entrance to the Javits Center by what you are trying to do. So if you have your badge and want to queue up? There’s a door for that. Need to buy a badge? There’s a door for that. Just want to register a complaint that when I blog here its unintelligent blather? There’s no door for that, sorry, keep it to yourself, my ego is too fragile.
I’ve even included a map above for you to reference. Too small? Here’s a link to a larger version of the map. Learn it. Live it. Know it.
Read carefully: If you are not at the right door, you will not be let into the Javits Center. You’ll be rebuffed. Sent back. Held back a grade in school. Be given a do over. Told to attend a remedial con entering class. So save yourself the minor yet very real public scolding and follow these instructions:
Did you get your ticket/badge in the mail or from a retailer? Use the green entrances; these are on the lower level off of 37th or 38th street. For Friday though, remember there is no indoor queuing, everyone will be lined up outside, so please dress accordingly. For Saturday and Sunday if you have your badge already, this is where you will enter to access to queue hall (Hall 1C) to wait for the show to open)
Want to purchase a ticket? Use the blue entrances; these are upstairs off of 35th street. Make sure and check the web site first though as we are selling out of tickets!
Are you a professional or VIP? Use the blue entrances; these are upstairs off of 35th street. Pros will either go down to their registration on the south concourse to pick up tickets or they will go down towards 1E hall and then be directed to 1A hall to Queue. VIP's will be directed down to the VIP lounge in 1E hall.
Have you purchased a ticket online need to pick it up? Use the yellow entrances; these are on the lower level off of 37th and 38th street. For Friday though, remember there is no indoor queuing, everyone will be lined up outside, so please dress accordingly.
Super important thing #1 – Remember to only use these entrances. In fact, better yet, use the streets that lead to these entrances before you even get to 11th Ave.
Super important thing #2 – There will be no indoor queuing on Friday so please dress for the weather.
Thank you for listening so intently to this NYCC Public Service announcement, you can now go back to your regular routines.
-Lance

Thanks for the advice! Btw, when are the rest of the IGN Theater panels going to be revealed?
Awesome article, but one quick question: what color would press people go to? Sorry, this is my first year doing coverage of NYCC and want to be sure I'm doing everything right!
Ashly, good quesiton, the red entrance would be best for press.....
Steve, IGN programming will go up as soon as its all confirmed and ready.
IGN confirmed a Nikita panel for the IGN theater on 2:45-3:45pm. Also the Green Latern Animated Series will premiere at NYCC in another panel room:

Will you be able to pick up Pro Passes the day before, like previous years? I used to pick mine up Thursday, planning to go to Javitt's Wednesday afternoon...
Jon, absolutely. Reg will be open beginning on Wednesday morning.
Hi,
I'm an international customer so I need to pick up my passes. I've got a 4-day pass. What's the earliest I can go to pick it up?
taowhotravels - registration will be open Wednesday from 10-6 and Thursdy 9-8.
I'm an exhibitor (artist alley) and I'm picking up my pass on Wednesday. Which door do I use?
What about coat/bag check? I have tickets so I guess the green entrance. But will I need to go back to the green entrance after coat check?
Question: for those who are picking up wheelchairs (and have already bought a ticket) where do they go?
Erin - as an exhibitor, you can use any dorr, and Wednesday will be chilled out, no crowds.
flgrant99 - you can do bag check after you get your tix or before you queue up for the show
wraithfodder - Please email me (lance at reedpop dot com) and I will get you the proper information
Which entrance is for bag check?
This is my first time attending & I really appreciate the "heads-up" : thank you for the insightful info!
Professor Fensterman,
When you say "lower level" do you mean Level One, where the panels and food court are, or do you mean Level Two, the street level with the big long concourse?
**so excited**
I'm attending as a pro (educator) with my son. Can I wait in line with him through whatever door he goes through? He's kinda excited about the que - afterall it IS a part of the experience and I wouldnt want him to miss it.
Question: First year at comic-con this year. I was wondering, am I reading this right... friday there will be no doors?? may u please explain the process to enter for those who purchased tickets online and need to pick up (my situation) pleeeease. I dont wanna be lost :'(
Wait, what's this about Wednesday? What's going on then?
Thank you for the heads up. I have a question? Will Press be able to pick up their badges similar to Pros on Weds? Just needed some clarification on that since in previous years the Press & Pros have been clumped into the same lines/areas usually.
What about for kids tickets on Sunday? We have 2 adult tickets already at home but have 2 kids.
Torsten - Level 2. When I say "lower level" I am speaking from the perspective that you are approaching the building outside, thus 2 is the lower level. Good Q, as alwaya.
Heather, of course!
Amanda, you will use the same doors for ticket pick up I describe in the post, my note is, there will be no queuing indoors that day, so please dress for the weather.
Matt M - Only exhibitor set up is happening Wednesday.
Kevin4thewin - Yes, press can pick up a badge on Wednesday.
Rachel - We did not mail kids day badges, we will have a desk for you to pick them up at.
I have the same issue as Rachel (adult ticket in hand but need to pickup kid ticket). And I've seen your answer that we will pick the kids tickets up, but the question is... do we go in the green door or the yellow door?
So if I got a 4 day pass, I'm not a pro or press, can I pick it up Wednesday or do I have to get it on Thursday....just to be totally sure.
Grumpkin, scroll up for my answer to Rachel.
Gene, registration is open Wednesday and Thursday, come by and pick up your tix. Check my previous tips post or tweets for the exact hours. I can't rememeber them.
still not clear if people with adult tickets in hand but who need to pick up kids tickets use the "have tickets" green entrance or the "pick up tickets" yellow entrance. can u clarify? thanks
Rachel, if you have your tickets, we will have staff handing out kids day badges or you can get a kids badge at any info or registration desk.
