Dances of Vice Double Barrel Halloween Weekend!

There's a lot -- A LOT -- going on this weekend in NYC for Halloween... Ghost Tours, Pumpkin Catapults, Masquerade Balls, Cemetery Tours, Fake Beard Contests, and more. Two of the events we're most excited by are from our friends at Dances of Vice, who'll be presenting parties both this Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday night, Dances of Vice presents Beyond the Veil - A Victorian Murder Mystery. At Riverside Church, the night's set on the following conceit... The year is 1901, and guests from around the world flock to Riverside Church to see the latest opera “L’ultimo Bacio”, starring the venerable Italian opera diva Comtessa Valentina Badalamenti. You are among the invitees to this exclusive performance, but upon arriving, you find yourself witness to a very different show altogether. Come dressed as a turn of the century lord, lady, detective, or vixen to help solve this interactive murder mystery.

Then, come Sunday morning, after you've solved a dastardly crime, come out to Dances of Vice's PhantasmaGOREY 2011. At Highline Ballroom, PhantasmaGOREY is Dances of Vice's annual Edward Gorey Brunch Spectacular. Yes. Really. Featuring live music, ballet, and just a pinch or burlesque, PhantasmaGOREY is an ooky spooky (and sulty) brunch for the elegantly deranged.
