This isn't necessarily new news, but it is awesome news. Check out these images for an uttlerly gorgeous
Batman: Black & White statue designed by
Cliff Chiang and sculpted by
Paul Harding. Based on a much older, vintage depiction of Batman -- hense the pair of pistols -- it's a glorious rendition of a young, green Bruce Wayne in a costume that's both homemade and sexy and sleek. The statue debuted just prior to NYCC which is why I missed it until now.
I used to be a big statue collector. My adolescent room is fat with statues of Misa Hayase, Cloud Strife, and the like, but it's an expensive hobby and one that requires a lot of space -- not something one's really able to dabble in living in a tiny (yet pricey) NYC apartment.
Still, this statue is sweet, and I'm sure I could find a space for Bruce on my desk.
